An actuator is the component that turns a control signal into physical motion — electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic energy converted into a push, pull, rotation or throttling action. In industrial settings they open and close valves, position dampers, drive robotic joints, and operate brakes and safety-critical linkages. The three broad families are electric actuators (servo or stepper-driven, precise positioning), pneumatic actuators (fast, simple, air-supply dependent), and hydraulic actuators (high force, used where load demands exceed what air or electric motors can economically deliver).
Worth being upfront about what's actually in this category today: most of our current "actuator" stock is Agilent/Keysight data-acquisition hardware — 34903A actuator/switch modules and relay boards for 34970A/34972A data loggers, and actuator-cable accessories for power sensor test setups — rather than motion actuators in the valve/robotics sense above. Genuine motion-actuator items are a smaller slice: Gemco hydraulic brake actuator repair kits (piston, cup, spring and seal parts for hydraulic brake actuator arms) and an Ametek fuse actuator (a fuse-trip mechanism, not a positioning device).
If you're looking for a linear, rotary, pneumatic or hydraulic valve/damper actuator, tell us the application, stroke/torque requirement and duty cycle — we can source genuine stock through the same open-market distribution channels we use for the rest of our range, even where it isn't yet reflected in this category's live listing.
We are not Agilent, Keysight, Ametek, or Gemco Electric, and not an authorised distributor for any of them — we source and supply genuine stock through the open market and established distribution channels, with datasheets and certificates of conformity available on request.
