Product Description

The Allen-Bradley 1747-BSN is a Backup Scanner Module built for SLC 500 systems, connecting over Remote I/O with RS-232 and DH+ (Data Highway Plus) interfaces on a 5 VDC, 800 mA supply. Its role is to support redundant SLC 500 configurations: a local status link (LSL) allows up to eight 1747-BSN modules to be fitted in one chassis, and each module can transfer up to 2 KWords of the SLC 500 data table, with total transfer capacity increasing as more BSN modules are added to a redundant system.

Being built for Remote I/O, it works with any Remote I/O adapter device, which lets a backup scanner arrangement extend across the same remote racks a primary SLC 500 processor already uses.
