SMC's IDG5-F01-S is a membrane-type compressed air dryer, delivering a -20°C dew point on the outlet air so moisture-sensitive pneumatic circuits stay protected from condensation and corrosion.

Unlike a refrigerant-type dryer, a membrane dryer has no moving parts and needs no external power supply: moist compressed air passes through a hollow-fibre polymer membrane, where water vapour permeates out through the membrane wall while the dry air continues downstream, with a small purge-air bleed carrying the extracted moisture away. This makes it a low-maintenance option for point-of-use drying, particularly where power isn't readily available at the installation point.
