A valve is the single point in a pipeline where flow actually gets decided — started, stopped, throttled, diverted or held back under pressure. Z & F Corporation Ltd supplies genuine valves across water, gas, oil, steam and process-automation duty, sourced through manufacturer and authorised distributor channels with full documentation on request.
Valve Types We Supply
- ⚙️ Ball Valves — quarter-turn shutoff, fast on/off, minimal pressure drop when fully open.
- 🔧 Gate Valves — full-bore isolation for pipelines that need an unobstructed flow path when open.
- 🌐 Globe Valves — throttling and flow regulation where precise control matters more than speed.
- ↩️ Check Valves — one-way flow, protecting pumps and equipment from backflow.
- 🦋 Butterfly Valves — compact, lightweight isolation for large-diameter, low-pressure-drop lines.
- 🎯 Needle Valves — fine, precise flow adjustment in instrumentation and sampling lines.
How to Choose the Right Valve
Start with the job, not the catalogue. If you just need to stop or start flow cleanly, a ball or gate valve is usually the simplest, most reliable choice. If you need to regulate or throttle flow rather than just switch it, a globe or needle valve gives you far finer control at the cost of a slightly higher pressure drop. Where backflow could damage a pump or contaminate a process, a check valve belongs in the line regardless of what else is specified.
Beyond valve type, three things decide whether a part actually fits: the pressure and temperature rating (match it to your pipe schedule and process conditions, not just the nominal pipe size), the body and trim material (compatibility with the fluid — corrosive, abrasive or high-purity media all rule out different materials), and the end connection (flanged, threaded, or butt-weld, matching the adjoining pipework). Get those three right and the valve type usually follows naturally from the application.
Pro tip — When replacing an existing valve, always quote the Cv (or Kv) flow coefficient alongside the pressure class. Matching pipe size alone can leave you with a valve that's the right fitting but the wrong flow characteristic for the application.
These are the valve types and applications we quote most often, but our sourcing network covers projects worldwide — including the Gulf, South Asia and beyond. If you have a part number, drawing or existing valve tag, request a quote and we'll confirm fit, lead time and documentation.
